V2Ray Vmess over gRPC

The same Vmess account carried over gRPC instead of WebSocket. gRPC multiplexes many streams down a single HTTP/2 connection, which generally holds up better on lossy mobile networks and recovers faster after the signal drops.

  • Transport. gRPC over TLS on 443, addressed by a service name rather than a WebSocket path.
  • Apps. v2rayNG, Nekobox, v2rayN or Shadowrocket -- any client that lists gRPC as a transport. Older builds may not have it.
  • Good to know. gRPC needs a working TLS handshake and has no plain-HTTP fallback, unlike the WebSocket variant.
