WireGuard

WireGuard is a modern kernel-level VPN: a few thousand lines of code, one fixed set of modern ciphers, and no negotiation at connect time. It comes up almost instantly and survives moving between Wi-Fi and mobile data without dropping the session.

  • Transport. UDP, with a key pair per device and a fixed peer configuration.
  • Apps. The official WireGuard app on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux. Import the .conf file or scan its QR code.
  • Good to know. WireGuard is UDP-only. On a network that blocks or throttles UDP it will not connect at all -- use an SSH or Xray account there instead.
