About this service

L2TP/IPsec & SSTP

SoftEther serves two protocols that most operating systems already ship with: L2TP over IPsec, and SSTP. There is nothing extra to install -- you add a VPN in the system settings, enter what the panel gives you, and connect.

  • Transport. L2TP/IPsec with a pre-shared key, and SSTP over TLS on 443.
  • Apps. The VPN settings built into Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. SSTP is native on Windows; elsewhere use a SoftEther or SSTP client.
  • Good to know. L2TP needs the IPsec pre-shared key as well as the username and password. All three are shown when the account is created.
