V2Ray Vmess over WebSocket

Vmess is V2Ray's own protocol. Your client wraps traffic in a WebSocket stream, so to anything watching the connection it has the shape of ordinary web traffic -- and inside TLS on port 443 it is indistinguishable from a normal HTTPS session by its envelope alone.

  • Transport. WebSocket over TLS on 443, or plain HTTP on 80. A bug/SNI host can be set at creation for carriers that route certain hostnames differently.
  • Apps. v2rayNG or Nekobox on Android, Shadowrocket or Stash on iOS, v2rayN on Windows. Paste the vmess:// link -- it already carries every setting.
  • Good to know. The vmess:// link is the entire account. Anyone holding it can use it, so treat it exactly like a password.
